Chattahoochee Technical College held an open house event on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to celebrate recent renovations to the library, Student Success Center and Barbering lab located on the Marietta Campus.

“After nine months in temporary spaces, we really want to show off the new space and make sure everyone knows where to find us,” Director of Libraries Leigh Hall said. “We hope our new layouts foster better access to our resources and services, which in turn leads to student success.”

The renovations for the library and Student Success Center range from new furniture to group study rooms and easier access to the library’s collection. The Barbering lab is equipped with world-class equipment that puts students front-and-center in a simulated barber shop.

Student Eric Stokes, of Marietta, said he regularly uses the library and takes advantage of all the resources the facility offers.

“I come to the library about four times a week to study – I come here a lot,” Stokes said. “I also do my homework and write papers for my classes using the computers.”

The overall cost of the renovations was roughly $300,000.
