The Rotary Club of East Cobb is helping to make one student’s education dreams a reality.
Funds raised at the Rotary Club of East Cobb’s annual Dog Days 5K Run were distributed to several nonprofit organizations during the club’s weekly meeting held March 8. The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation was gifted $1,000 to provide a scholarship to one deserving Chattahoochee Tech student for the upcoming academic year.
The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation exists to eliminate financial barriers and support the mission of the college by securing resources to support overall success. Charitable support to the foundation during the 2016-17 academic year helped provide nearly $60,000 in scholarship funds and more than $8,400 in emergency grant funds to students at risk of not continuing their education due to unexpected financial dilemmas.
“The generous donation from the Rotary Club of East Cobb will alleviate some of the financial strain college imposes, making it possible for a student yet to be selected to pursue their educational goals,” said CTC Director of Alumni and Annual Giving Stephanie Hubbell. “The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation is very appreciative of the support that the Rotary Club of East Cobb continues to provide the college and our students.”
All scholarship recipients for the upcoming academic year will be announced at the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation Scholarship Awards Luncheon slated for Friday, April 21, at Piedmont Church in Marietta.
