The Cobb EMC Community Foundation is committed to supporting charitable organizations, and in an effort to assist the students of Chattahoochee Technical College, the nonprofit recently pledged to support the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation’s emergency grant program.

“The Cobb EMC Community Foundation is proud to help improve local students’ access to higher education,” said Cobb EMC Community Foundation Chair Carol Shaddix. “This donation will help students advance and make a difference in our community, and we’re excited to see what their futures hold.”

“Community partners such as the Cobb EMC Community Foundation are vital for the success of our students who have fallen onto hard times and are having to face the tough decision of putting their education on hold,” said CTC Executive Director of Development Melanie Lambert. “The emergency grant program can help students with tuition or personal expenses that may prevent them from continuing their education at CTC. The generosity of the Cobb EMC Community Foundation allows the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation to continue its mission of making higher education an affordable reality for students in our community.”

Charitable support to the foundation during the 2016-17 academic year helped provide nearly $60,000 in scholarship funds and more than $8,400 in emergency grant funds to students at risk of not continuing their education due to unexpected financial dilemmas.

The Foundation also awarded faculty and staff grants in the amount of $20,000 for professional development.
