Five students from Chattahoochee Technical College placed among the top ten national award winners at the Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda 2018 National Leadership Conference held recently in Baltimore, Maryland.
Receiving second-place national awards at this event were Coty Jones, of Cobb County, in Sales Presentation, and Sue Nguyen, of Cobb County, in Public Speaking. Receiving eighth-place national awards were Jemetria Mabrey, of Cobb County, in Web Design, and Amanda Maynard, of Fulton County, in Marketing Concepts. The three-person team of Nguyen, Maynard and Alicia Thompson, of Cobb County, place sixth in the nation in Marketing Analysis.
“I am very proud of how well our students did,” said Brian Moss, Chattahoochee Tech Marketing Management Instructor, who worked with Business Management Instructor Ryan Greene to prepare the students for this event. “Their success is a tremendous accomplishment, especially since this is a national competition. They put in a lot of hard work to place in the top ten in the nation.”
Future Business Leaders of America – Phi Beta Lambda is the nation’s largest business student organization for college students from two-year and four-year colleges, with over 10,000 members and more than 500 chapters across the United States. The mission of this organization is to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
