Chattahoochee Technical College welcomed Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal to the North Metro Campus in Acworth on Wednesday, May 2. Arriving by helicopter, Gov. Deal emphasized the state’s investment in the Technical College System of Georgia. With a focus on workforce development, the state’s Fiscal Year 2019 budget includes the Governor’s recommendation of two new buildings for Chattahoochee Tech – the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies at the North Metro Campus, and the Health Education Center at the Marietta Campus.
Projected programs for the 71,100-square-foot Health Education Center include Occupational Therapy Assistant, Medical Assisting and Practical Nursing. The 20,828-square-foot Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Emerging Technologies will offer training in Industrial Maintenance, which includes programmable logic controllers as well as Robotics, Computer Numerical Controls and Advanced Machining.
