Chattahoochee Technical College recently welcomed three new members to the college’s board of directors. New board members include Denise Ray and John Trammell, both of Pickens County, and Paige Green, of Gilmer County.
“We are very fortunate to have these outstanding community leaders join the college’s board of directors,” said Chattahoochee Technical College President Dr. Ron Newcomb. “I am confident that they will work diligently to help us achieve our mission of strengthening both individuals and businesses through workforce training.”

Clik here to view.Denise Ray is president and CEO of Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. She joined the Piedmont Healthcare system in 2008, and has been Piedmont Mountainside Hospital’s CEO since 2012. In addition to this role, Ray is the chief nursing executive for Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare, where she collaborates with the system’s front-line nursing teams to redesign the system’s patient care model. She also served previously as COO of Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
John Trammell is president and CEO of both Community Bank of Pickens County and Community Banks of Georgia, Inc. Trammell began his banking career in 1985 following service as an educator and coach. He and several colleagues started Community Bank of Pickens in 2000, with Trammell serving as the bank’s director, CEO and president. Trammell has served on numerous local boards and authorities as well as regional and state banking organizations. He also served for eight years on the Pickens County School Board, and was board chairman for five of those years.
Paige Green is president and CEO of the Gilmer Chamber of Commerce. She has served in this role for the past 10 years as an avid community developer who works closely with local businesses, elected officials, education officials and others to help foster a strong, viable community with a high quality of life. She is also dedicated to the advancement of the chamber profession through her involvement with the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE), the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), and the U.S. Chamber Institute of Organizational Management. Additionally, Green is very active in the Gilmer County community where she currently serves as manager of the Georgia Apple Festival. She is an active member of the Optimist Club and is the immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Gilmer County.
Green, Trammell and Ray will serve for three years on the board of directors for Chattahoochee Technical College. This board is composed of members who were nominated by area industry and community leaders, and approved by the Technical College System of Georgia. The college’s board members represent the six counties in Chattahoochee Tech’s service area – Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Gilmer, Paulding and Pickens.
